From Banff Go East on HWY 1 through Canmore towards Calgary; approximately 20 minutes from Canmore you will take Exit 118, sign-posted for Kananaskis Trail / HWY 40 turnoff. Take HWY 40 south into Kananaskis Country about 22 km or nearly 14 miles (about 15 minutes). Watch for a small road sign that says: Beaver Ponds/Sundance Lodges - 1 km. Our entry sign is on the right hand side of the road; turn right off the highway onto Sundance Road and take another immediate right down a gravel road; it leads you to the office at the Trading Post. From Calgary Go West on HWY 1 towards Canmore and Banff; take Exit 118, sign-posted for Kananaskis Trail / HWY 40 turnoff. From Calgary International Airport Allow 1.5 hours to 2 hours to Sundance Lodges from the airport to give you time to get through the city. Take Airport Trail northwest to Deerfoot trail North. Take the second major overpass called Stoney Trail West. This will bypass most of the city and take you to the TransCanada highway on the westside of Calgary. From there follow the directions above for leaving from Calgary. From the South Take a left off HWY 40 onto Sundance Road and then an immediate right down a gravel road that leads you to the office (Trading Post). Please Note: HWY 40 is closed at the south end from December until June 15th (annually) requiring access from the north from HWY 1.
